LEARN TO RING THE BELLS
Meet people, have fun & get fit!
Here is our Palm Sunday Services - the beginning of Holy Week.....The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed, shouted: 'Hosanna to the Son of David' Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!
This weeks' service is for the fifth sunday in Lent - Passion Sunday. Our service is based on the gospel reading from John's Gospel Chapter 12 vs 20-33 'I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.'
Annette is joined by the wonderful Stuart McCarthy on the organ and also reads the gospel for us. We are also fortunate to have Kathy Bishop to sing 'Now the Green Blade Riseth' - a hymn written by Rev John Crum who based his writing on Jesus' words in John's Gospel passage.
This sunday is the fourth sunday in Lent and this week Annette reminds us os some of the rich history of Mothering Sunday, also known as Refreshment Sunday or mid Lent. Annette chats to some lovely ladies from all four of our churches about what it means to them being mothers. Here is the link to this weeks' service:
This sunday is the third sunday in Lent and Annette is joined in Great Paxton by Ursula Van Leeuwen-Hill and her husband Jeff. Ursula reads the gospel of John Chapter 2 vs 13-22 and also gives us her thoughts on the passage which shows us a different side to Jesus when he cleansed the temple courtyards of corrupt money changers and upset the Jewish faith leaders who took great exception and offence at his behaviour.
This Sunday is the second sunday of Lent and Annette joins Doreen Heley in her new garden which is bursting into life. Doreen kindly reads the gospel (Mark Chapter 8 vs 31-38) from her garden. This week Annette also visits Sawtry where she chats with Rev Becky Dyball, Vicar at Sawtry with Holme and Glatton. Becky kindly shares her thoughts on this weeks' reading.
