Here is this weeks' Keeping in Touch newsletter for Sunday 7th February 2021 which accompanies this weeks' Sunday Service. This newsletter includes all current updates regarding St James Church and the churches in our Benefice.
This is the second Sunday before Lent and this week Annette features Holy Trinity Church and is joined by Ursula, from Great Paxton, who kindly reads The Gospel - John, Chapter 1 vs 1-14; the deeply mysterious and poetically beautiful prologue from St John's Gospel. We are also fortunate that Daisy, Ursula's daughter, plays her guitar and sings beautifully, and with deep feeling, 'Morning Has Broken' . A very big thank you to Ursula and Daisy for participating in our service.
Here is this weeks' Keeping in Touch newsletter for Sunday 31st January 2021 to accompany our virtual service celebrating Candlemas.
Before this weeks' service you may wish to have a candle ready to light for prayer time. This Sunday is the fourth sunday of Epiphany and we celebrate 'Candlemas' which takes place 40 days after Christmas Day (2nd February). This week Annette speaks, via telephone, with Leslie Tennant (Retired Church Army Evangelist Officer), from St James Church, who kindly reads the passage from St Luke's gospel and reflects on Candlemas, or Presentation of Christ in the Temple.
