Here is the weekly Keeping in Touch newsletter for the first sunday in lent, 21st February. Our gospel this week comes from Mark Chapter 1 vs 9-15 and in our virtual service it is read by Bob Hacking, Churchwarden at our Holy Minster Church of Great Paxton.
This sunday is the first sunday in Lent and Annette chats on the phone to The Venerable Hugh McCurdy, Archdeacon for Huntingdon and Wisbech in the Diocese of Ely. During his chat with Annette, Archdeacon Hugh gives us his own thoughts on how we may approach lent this year.
May we say a huge thank you to Bob Hacking, Archdeacon Hugh McCurdy and the lovely and very talented Hutchings family - whose participation in the video is very uch appreciated.
Here is this weeks' Keeping in Touch newsletter for Sunday 14th February. This week is about the Transfiguration of Jesus. This is the sheet which accompanies the virtual service, it also includes current updates regarding the churches in benefice.
We are at the last sunday before Lent. Annette will be talking about Jesus' Transfiguration and gives us her thoughts on the origins of Valentines Day. We are very grateful to Polly Carpenter-O'Driscoll , Churchwarden at Diddington, for kindly reading the gospel (Mark Chapter 9 vs 2-9) and to Angela Ellmer from Southoe who makes beautiful porcelain flowers and shows us two of the red roses she has made for Valentine's Day in order to raise money for cancer research. Thank you to both.
